Kontich, Belgium, October 1977 would spawn a true tale for the AC/DC song “Bedlam In Belgium” which appears on the bands 1983 album “Flick Of The Switch”. AC/DC was scheduled to perform at Thier Brau Hof in Kontich (small town near Antwerp) but due to some electrical issues, they were forced to start the show rather late, which would in turn impede on the towns noise curfew. The cops were called, and they tried stopping the show, but AC/DC would have nothing to do with that. The band kept playing anyway, which resulted in cops with guns drawn at Angus and Bon on the stage that night, which erupted into of a brawl between police and the band and crew.
“we don't play just for pay, so we'd like to stay, stay just the same, he gave me a crack in the back with his gun, hurt me so bad I could feel the blood run…bedlam in Belgium!”
