Salut !
Bonne lecture

Phil Rudd Interview Triple M
DJ: you know him as the drummer of AC/DC his name is Phil Rudd and has a new album coming out called head job, Phil Rudd great to speak to ya.
PR: Likewise brother what's up
DJ: we're gonna talk about this solo album that is coming out in a months time, but obviously I gotta bring up the new AC/DC album which you officially finished so you've been to Vancouver and back home to New Zealand so you must be satisfied to have it all done?
PR: I am mate absolutely yeah ya hit the nail right on the head there I'm very happy to have it all done. It's all very good by the way. So there's no comparison it's all very good.
DJ: what was it like in Vancouver and have you recorded there before.
PR: we've done a couple of albums there before we did let me see Black Ice and the one before that what's the one before black Ice excuse my bad memory I'm a drummer I don't think very often I think we did the last two um the last three um including this one in Vancouver it's Bryan Adams studio it's a fantastic studio we go there because it's a great studio that's the only reason.
DJ: we're all very excited to hear what's happened and aah you know as soon as you hear new AC/DC coming out everyone just goes nuts. One thing many AC/DC fans and Phil Rudd fans don't know you've actually move to New Zealand and how how long have you been livin there for?
PR: aaaah about 30 years yeah about 31 years mate Its not like I don't love Australia I love Australia I love Australia but i have reasons why I live here I live in New Zealand because my kids are here.
DJ: someone said to me all you do is write music record music and drive fast cars is that the go?
PR: I fly helicopters as well that's about right I chase a few girls to cause I'm sorta single, I got 6 kids but I'm quit single hear that girls I'm single nah I am single I hope the girls can hear me nah I'm only joking
DJ: mate he's the most eligible bachelor in the world alright.
PR: am I
DJ: but I heard that about that helicopter thing as we'll so you do trips up to the mountains ya drop people off and they ski down the mountain?
PR: no I just fly around like a big wanker all by my self I fly the thing that's the best part about it um I chase _____ in a helicopter ya look down and see if ya still got ya pants on mate that's how much fun it is it's a lot of fun.
DJ: so what is the most valuable car you own cause we know that your a petrol head and Brian Johnson is a petrol head?
PR: Aargh Brian Johnson what a fuckin good man Brian, I saw his lap I saw his lap on top gear he did the second quickest lap on top gear of all time, I saw it last night (something about thirty years ago I couldn't understand him) he was fuckin flyin I was gonna ring him up and call him a wanker , mate Brian Johnson's a good guy he's a good mate of mine Brian
DJ: it's almost family isn't it
PR: they are family have ya got any proper questions Becko? no I won't say that next question
DJ: I do want to find out what you've been working on privately with this new album and this new project cause you know this has come out of the blue for everyone and I've been sent obviously the details I've heard the song which we're are about to play
PR: is that Repo Man is that all you've heard so far?
DJ: I've heard Repo Man and that's all I've heard
PR: well stand by cause most of it's the same on the album "Better" if ya ask me but I ain't a producer but (can't understand him) I hope everyone thinks it's a great album from start to finish that's the idea, we didn't put anything on there we didn't like or what they call a filler there's no filler, plenty of Phil on there but no filler haha
DJ: exactly that's right
When you hear killer no filler ya know its gonna be good, and you been producing this, so your the main man ya got a couple of blokes you worked with on the writing and even sort of the vocals as well like Allan Badger and Jeffery Martin
PR: yeah yeah well Jeffery Martin is a Stella guitarist of any calibre he is a fantastic guitarist and Alan Badger has got a fantastic voice they deserve me as much as I deserve them, it reminds me of something that Bon Scott once said who are you? nah only joking next question.
DJ:you know what I got some audio I wanna play for you this is from an old interview with Brian Johnson I think it was from over 5 years ago
PR: what did he say about me? What did he say about me I be the said something about me
DJ: well have a listen to this this is Brian talking about your inspiration when it comes to being cooped up in a recording studio for days on end
DJ: PLAYS AUDIO
PR: Laughing he's a lier he's a lying bastard, I'm a leg man everyone knows it if ya ring Brian tell him to piss off, nah he's all good I was talkin to him the other day he's a good guy got any other questions.
DJ: that's a brilliant story I've heard the funny thing is though um Rod Stewart has multiple photos of dicks on his wall when he's recording vocals
PR: oh I don't do that mate nah I don't do that mate
DJ: you got a big set of tits which is even better
PR: I don't worship dicks mate I worship the other thing the pussy, I like pussy, I know AC/DC was a funny sounding name for a band of fuckin street fighters but that's what we are we don't kiss boys, we don't do anything, we don't kneel none of that stuff we kick arse that's what we do and we chase girls all AC/DC chases girls ONLY exclusively
DJ: I wanna ask you about when you were gigging starting off humble beginnings here in Sydney I had a really good chat with Mark Evans about a year ago and he sort of painted the picture of what it was like doing a typical weekend in Sydney you would do 5 or 6 concerts at least on a 3 day weekend in Sydney do the bondi lifesaver, the civic hotel just next to here in the city you did multiple concerts it must of been incredible?
PR: well I tell ya what it was pretty hard work we were on about 40 bucks a week doing ten shows a fuckin day, it might sound alright to you mate but if ya ask me it was fuckin shit, nah that's the shit ya do to get to where we are ya know ya gotta play for nothin to get paid ya know what I'm sayin that's just how it goes ya gotta do the work ya gotta show ya any good, then they buy ya records and fair enough it's all good not sure who your talking about but anyway carry on
DJ: it's very much an honour to have you on the other end of the phone and aah look I think there's gonna be a lot of people very excited to hear this new project of yours and it's gonna be blown up end of August for the album and we got the song right now it's called Repo Man Phil Rudd we can't wait for AC/DC news to come the new album will be out well hopefully soon and aah Phil it's great to speak to you and love to see you in person when your in Sydney
PR: well I'm over there shortly on some press so hopefully we can catch up then I'm looking forward to it
