Then there was Earth Fest with was a big free carbon neutral , global warming awareness concert. Good to see so many catching on to this movement. I'm personally glad to see common sense move from being a fringe/leftest idea to being a more mainstream head space. Its about time.......
We can make it the moon and do amazing things when we use our brains but still takes the polar caps to melt, winter conditions in the summer , Droughts in the winter , and islands going under water before us human beings, as a collective, catch on to the simple lessons. Its a pity we always learn the hard way.
Speaking of which, we all are really looking forward to coming home an playing at the live earth concert. Man Al gore really kicked this movement into full gear. I think he's done a lot more in this capacity than he ever could as a president. Well mind you there probably wouldn't be a war in Iraq so maybe I'm a wrong. Georges profoundly scary agenda aside; I think its hard not to be the president of the united states and not be slightly responsible for some empirical atrocity going on during your term. That doesn't take responsibility off the the first man but ... I think you know what I mean. So maybe mr gore avoided that. He definitely brought global warming from the side lines to the head lines and that's great.
The carbon emissions from our last tour in oz were completely off set by wind power and our next tour we're doing the same on the next tour and that includes giving the audience a chance to offset the emissions they create driving to our gigs. We have a green ticket option that one can choose when buying the ticket. We're stoked on that. 90% of the crew buying are choosing the green option!
We're starting to do the same in the US. We've been working with a company called cliff bar in conjunction with another organization called music matters. they've helped us do a lot towards making our touring more sustainable. Both our buses are now running on bio diesel. We're using B99 which is almost 100% complete bio diesel. Very cool. We're also offering carbon offsets vouchers that offset the fans driving emissions to the gig. So cliff bar and music matters have made a huge difference to how we tour.
Its great that these options are now readily available.
Did you know the diesel engine was invented over 80 years ago and designed to run on peanut oil? Those damn oil companies !!! Our buses get better mileage and are running cleaner and smoother too. What a crime to think some many of us were fooled into believing oil was the way for the last however many years. Its nice to be living a little more of our lives out of the matrix. !
My family has all woken up and I'm ready for a great day off. Talk soonish.
Love and respect to all,
Boo yah!!
