AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd wants to restore his reputation and win back his job with the band.
In an exclusive interview with One News today, Rudd has assured fans his life is under control, despite headlines and rumours to the contrary in recent months.
"I'm going back to work for AC/DC and I don't care who likes it and who doesn't," he says.
The 60-year-old heavy metal star is on bail charged with possession of cannabis and methamphetamine and threatening to kill.
Rudd was also originally charged with attempting to procure two murders. That charge was dropped within 24 hours of being laid.
"Its all wrong and Im very upset about the whole thing," he told One News reporter Ruth Wynn Williams.
"Ludicrous, ludicrous. As if Id need anybody to do that."
Rudd's lawyers are investigating how the charge came to be laid and weighing up the damage it has done to his reputation.
Police have already refused to release more details to One News on the matter under the Official Information Act.
Reports on Rudds rock'n'roll lifestyle have made global headlines.
"This has just been a big ball of cheese and all the rats are gathering and having a piece," he says in reference to stories about prostitutes, drugs and wild parties. "That's not who I am."
Rudd has toured with AC/DC on-and-off for the last 40 years, but hasn't been included in any of the publicity for the band's tour next year.
Now he says he wants to focus on regaining his job with them, although if he's convicted on any of the charges he currently faces he may not be able to tour.
