Bonjour,

Hi ,
I saw AC/DC many times (10 - 15 ; can't remember) including many times in the early days with Bon Scott, including his last ever gig at Newcastle Mayfair. They were a breath of fresh air at the time and a great rock band, and Bon Scott was one of the best front men that I have ever seen.
I also recall than Angus was as much the star in those days. I thought Bon could never have been replaced but then I went along to the Back in Black tour and was amazed at how well the band had moved forward. It was as if out of a terrible tradegy came a determination which pushed them forward.
I am busy trying to create a website of all the concerts I have been to (over 1,000 over my life) and have made a start on recent concerts but intend to work back.
I will do something on my memories of AC/DC very soon (I also have copies of programmes from many of the shows). I'm waiting for the annnoucement of the new AC/DC tour and intend to go along and see them again (it is around 15+ years since I last saw
I was at quite a few of the concerts that you have tickets for :Newcastle City Hall, Newcastle Mayfair, Donnington (3 times I think) ; also I think I saw them at the Reading Festival in 1976 and an early show at Middlesbrough Town Hall around the same time. I can't remember how many times I saw them at Newcastle Mayfair (some of them were pay at the door so I don't have a ticket stub) but I think I saw them every time they played there which may have been 4 or 5?
I also saw them supporting the Who at Wembley Stadium (sound was awful).
I seem to recall the show at Newcastle University was around the time of the emergence of punk and the crowds at that time were starting to get into throwing beer (and spitting) at the band. I recall some of the people in the crowd didn't take kindly to seeing Angus in his school unform and that he got a few pints of beer thrown over him and Bon had to tell the crowd to stop it. Fraid my memory is going which is partly why I want to document what I can while I still can (wish I'd kept a diary)
Best wishes,
Peter
